MS 50 2004 Race Announcement

The 10th annual Carl Touchstone Mississippi 50 Trail run will be held March 12, 2005 on the Longleaf Horse Trail at the De Soto National Forest.

PineTr1.JPG (60709 bytes)The 50 K, and 50 Mile endurance runs will begin at 6 a.m. and both races have a 12 hour limit. The 20 K will begin at 8:am. The course features soft dirt trails and fire roads on a 12.5 and 6.1 mile loops. An interesting feature of the longer races is that the organizers allow runners to switch races after one or two loops; 50K to 50M or 20K; or 50M to 50K or 20K, 20K to 50K or 50M (anyone who switches during the race will not be eligible for a trophy however).PineTr2.JPG (48188 bytes)

Well supplied aid stations will be positioned every two to four miles with easy crew access. All entrants get a t-shirt, pre-race meal, and post -race dinner cooked on site. Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers as they finish. All finishers get a finisher memento. The finisher memento this year will be a custom Tyvek jacket.  All 50 mile finishers will also receive a handsome belt buckle. See details on the mementos.

Make checks payable to the Carl Touchstone Mississippi 50. All race information is available on-line, so no printed packets will be sent unless requested. See who is registered.

Please fill out the registration form completely, printing clearly (we have had some troubles reading entries).  State whether you intend to run the 50 mile, 50K, or 20K race, and your last time in a race at that distance. Please let us know if this is your first race at the chosen distance.
